Noise measurements were conducted in accordance with SANS 10083 — The Measurement and Assessment of Occupational Noise for Hearing Conservation Purposes. Measurements were performed using a Type 1 integrating sound level meter calibrated to a traceable standard, positioned at operator ear height (approximately 1.2–1.6 m) within the breathing zone of the most exposed worker in each area. A-weighted equivalent continuous noise levels (LAeq) were measured over representative sampling periods. The 8-hour noise exposure level (LAr,8h) was calculated in accordance with the methodology prescribed in the Noise Exposure Regulations, 2024.
